• Hot Rolled Steel Strips – Generally 3/16” thickness or less
• Hot Rolled Steel Flats – Greater than 3/16” thick

Most strips or flat bars are less than 9” wide with a few exceptions.

Naming Convention

• Thickness (inches) x Width (in.). Example: 1/4 x 1 Flat

Steel strips and flat bars can be welded, drilled, machined, sawed, punched, and formed.
